Brent and I braved the cold and wet on Sunday and launched the canoes at the Copmanhurst boat ramp - or more correctly, what is left of it following the last flood! About 50% of the flat riverside area has been swept away, and my guess is that the next major flood will take what remains, leaving a very high cliff with no river access.

Riverboat Trip

Last weekend, Brent, Ken, Anne and myself enjoyed a wonderful trip in a houseboat on the Clarence River. (see favourite links). We also managed to further celebrate Ken's 60th! The weather was perfect and we spent a leisurely 3 days cruising and drifting on the mighty Clarence.

Mt Clunie - Easter

Well Mt Clunie was wet, in fact extremely wet! We had a few trying circumstances to contend with - Lynette's crook back and Brent's PNG flu - but managed to have a good break, enjoying the scenery and the company.

Mt Clunie is located on the boarder of NSW & Queensland as you can see in the pic below. The National Park was created in 1999 and covers 1,426 hectares. The park is part of Gondwana Rainforests Australia.

Fungi were plentiful in the wet rainforest, in beautiful and unusual forms

# Agaric Mushrooms - the majority of the 'cap shape' mushrooms

# Toothed fungi are from the families Hydnaceae & Echodontiaceae

# Bracket Fungi (pored fungi): Ganoderma spp

# Gilled Fungi: Mycena sp

There always has to be a frog, and they were having a ball in the wet conditions

# Northern Dwarf Tree Frog - Litoria Bicolor - the little fella only grows to 30mm
